Crestview is truly home to a Florida lifestyle, offering a mild, healthy climate with average summer temperature of 80 degrees and average winter temperature of 51 degrees. The elevation is 235 feet above sea level, second highest in the state. Crestview, located at the junction of three major highways (U.S. Highway 90, State Road 85, and Interstate 10) is just 45 miles east of Pensacola, 150 miles west of Tallahassee, and 30 miles from the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.

Crestview, the county seat of Okaloosa County, has a mayor and city council form of government. The courthouse is located in the center of downtown Crestview.

There are 5 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 1 high school, 2 K-12 schools in the rural areas of Baker and Laurel Hill, the Crestview Vocation Center, and the Okaloosa Walton Community College Center.

North Okaloosa Medical Center offers health care to area residents with a 110-bed facility and medical staff of more that 50 physicians.

Most religious denominations are represented in over 60 area churches.

Eglin Air Force Base is the county's largest single employer, followed by service industries, the county school system, local governments, and hospitals.

The Bob Sikes Airport, home to the 400-acre Okaloosa County Industrial Park, is home to an 8,000-foot runway. Additionally there are industrial parks in the rural areas of Laurel Hill and Baker.
