Kathy Wilhelm lives where she works. A local resident since moving to Shalimar with her Air Force family at the age of 2, Kathy is familiar with all of Okaloosa County. She got her start in real estate in 1977 when she joined her parents, Fred and Kathleen Bowman, in the family-owned real estate company in Crestview. She's been a full-time real estate professional ever since. Kathy settled in Crestview in 1983 with her husband James, a home builder and dual sport/adventure rider. When Kathy is not working, she spends time with her family and friends. For personal relaxation, she also is a dual sport/adventure rider and enjoys riding the local trails or going to Cheaha Mountain to ride in the mountains! Kathy loves to read, enjoys a great view, especially sunsets and sunrises (which she occasionally gets to photograph!) and looks forward to an opportunity to go camping,or motorcycle riding with James. | | | | | |

Although all of their children are grown and on their own now, James and Kathy enjoy family times together with Jim, Jennifer, and Katie, and let’s not forget the family dog, Savannah. After all, she is the princess! It just doesn’t get much better than this!

Selling Your Home >No Smoking
One of the issues that may come up during the sale of a home is pervasive odors, particularly cigarette smoke. If your home is on the market, it may sell more quickly if you temporarily make it a smoke-free zone. Many non-smokers are highly sensitive to the lingering presence of smoke.
The sense of smell is the most powerful of all the five senses. Be sure to keep your home aired out while it is on the market. If the weather is good, you can smoke outside or while taking a walk or a drive. Avoid heavily-scented room fresheners which combined with the smoke can be worse than the smoke alone. It helps to wash the walls and have drapes and upholstered furniture professionally cleaned. This is really a serious issue for many buyers, so don't limit your market by turning away non-smokers.
